Broadway conductor, music director, and composer Mary-Mitchell Campbell founded Artists Striving to End Poverty (ASTEP) as a way to bring the arts and arts education to children and schools in disadvantaged communities around the world. With a shifting social landscape and an evolving business model and strategy, she recognized the need for a rebrand to better reflect where the organization was headed—beginning with a new name. Studio Tomo helped rename the organization to Arts Ignite, and developed a new brand strategy, identity, and website to communicate the critical role and profound impact that the arts play in children’s lives.

“Working with James and Studio Tomo was a dream for our company from the first meeting all the way to the celebratory launch of our new brand! His team is attentive and detail-oriented, while maintaining a lovely sense of humor and humanity. We always felt like we were in great hands with Studio Tomo and benefited greatly from their wisdom, experience, and strategic suggestions. Highly recommend!”

— Mary Mitchell-Campbell, Founder, Arts Ignite

“We initially engaged Studio Tomo to develop a brand strategy for our 15 year old non-profit. At the conclusion of that agreement, we enthusiastically re-engaged James for a top to bottom rebrand of our arts organization, including selecting a new name.

James is a thoughtful and smart collaborator who assuredly guided our team through the process of building a brand that more accurately reflected the work we do and the communities we serve. He is flexible and accommodating while balancing his expertise and know-how. The Studio Tomo team’s professional, polished, and prepared approach led us to a precise brand strategy; stunning logo; and user-friendly website that tells our story and invites engagement in a plainspoken and fun way. Our community is completely thrilled, and our key stakeholders see all these changes as a big level-up.

I felt heard, cared for, and supported through the entire process. I highly recommend James & Studio Tomo. They are a dream and I cannot wait to work with the team again!
